Hi everyone
I believe we have to support this cause as its time we no longer accept politicians hand feeding and creating laws to support there cause of more tax revenue.
We have been led to believe that this latest law reducing speed limits on the open roads is to promote safety and is not just a money grabbing exercise.
We need to garner all support and opinion on changing the law and being held accountable to the public. They are in office as we voted them to do a job for us not a preconceived journey of there’s. Motorists have been the major cash cow of all Governments State, Federal and Territory. We are subjected to multiple laws which are all created in the name of safety but really are taxes for the government.
Speeding fines are a huge source of revenue and when people became smarter and where getting caught less they lowered the speed limits to frustrate motorist and create delays so they could catch more. Safety was the war cry to validate this cause. In the articles on the web site it states that where they took there data to support crash and injury statistics was in the city and not even on the open road.
I have written an email to the motor magazine editor letting him know about the web site. If we all send an email to this site and help the cause we can create a buzz or a following that will let the politicians know that we are not sheep any more and they can’t heard us like sheep to any law that they want to pass. Hold them accountable!!!!!!!!
The site is Motor@acpmagazines.com.au
and phone your local politician now and tell them you are not happy. See the home page at the bottom for their contact numbers.
There was a campaign years ago to save the V8 that was successful and had huge support. Let’s vote with our emails and letter for this cause.
Just remember the biggest shonky dealing there is “Is tax on the motorist through petrol and speeding fines, why have good info structure and roads that can support higher speeds when you can limit them and tax anyone breaking them. How much is gathered in tax from petrol tax and how much is put back.
Let’s support accountability and the right of all. Not the right of the few.
