The NT Road Task Safety 2006 Report commisioned by The Martin Administration and its raft of recommendations has not reduced the road toll, in fact it has gone up markedly. Another serious failure.
We are about safety and there needs to be an urgent review of these measures to find out what the real problem is. Lets ask the CLP to review the report in question time in parlaiment. Then we will see that repealing the 130 speed limit will save lives.
Enough is enough how many more poeple need to die of increased fatigue and the increased difficulty in passing road trains before this STUPID SOUTHERN STYLE LAW IS REMOVED. Maybe if we employed an Territorian Police comissioner and not somebody from South Australia we might have a chance.
Kepp up the good fight.
I was at a barbie with my wife and some freinds on saturday night. When the news came through that Matt Conlan had achieved a resounding victory, the beer and wine flowed freely. Everyone here in the Alice is happy to say the very least. The week leading up to saturday night we had all the canditates come and knock on our door. I was of course very polite to all the candidates. The thing that really stood out was Clares absence. Matt Conlan and Jodeen Carney came knocking and I sent them on their way quite quickly..... I told them that they had my and my wifes unconditional support so better they spend their valuable time convincing someone that might be on the fence.....
To all the the Darwinians that read this, this is a heart felt plea..... Please do all you can to get Clare out of the NT!!! Please follow the Alice folks example and tell Clare that her style of over governance is not what we want or need in OUR Northern Territory!!
All the best all.
Thank you very much for the update, and if you see Jodeen Carney again please let her know that you are a part of KeepNTLimitFree and post regularly on the Forum. We will be meeting with her in the near future and it is always good for her to know that removing the 130 limit is a popular issue with the public.
Keep up the good work
Here is another reason Clare MUST go.

The former president of the Australian Medical Association (AMA) in the Northern Territory says some local doctors are urging the Commonwealth to takeover hospitals in the Top End.
Paul Bauert says the conditions at Territory hospitals have deteriorated and he has asked federal Health Minister Tony Abbott for the Commonwealth to intervene.
Dr Bauert says the Territory system is simply not coping.
"Many of us feel quite strongly that it is beyond the capacity of the health bureaucracy in the Northern Territory to satisfactorily run our hospitals, and that we would welcome a Federal Government takeover," he said.
However the current president of the AMA in the NT, Dr Peter Beaumont, says the push for a federal takeover of the Territory's hospitals is not a formal position of the association.
