The NT government passed legislation the other day bringing into effect demerit points from the 1st of September 2007.
This draconian measure has been introduced despite the fact that no hard evidence exists proving that demerit points have ever been effective.
Kiss bye-bye to your lifestyle Territorians because no doubt the Martin Labor government intends running the NT as a carbon copy of Labor states down south. Which means they will leave no stone unturned in the search for the mighty dollar.
If they can tax something, if they can dream up new ways of fining people they will.
Territorians now have a claer choice either go down the road like the rest of Australia and get screwed over with ever more regulations, restrictions and huge fines BASED UPON NO EVIDENCE
or
KEEP FREE and say no to Southern standards.
The truth is this;
The Martin Administration is broke at a time when they should have heaps of cash. Insurance companies (TIO government owned) reduce their benefits to us based upon these new laws. The insurance companies then fund and put pressure on fantitical groups like the Pedestrian society and it all gets justified to us the ever dump public, who ultimately loose out.
Write to you local member or at least send them an email as they ARE DUTY BOUND TO REPLY and tell them that we will not vote for them. Change back the laws or get kicked out of office
