That idiot superintendent Rennie says that it's no problem if businesses dob in the driver of a corporate car because then the fine will only be $200. That's not the point moron, the point is that the govt is indulging in blatant revenue raising by making the fine five times more for businesses because they figure they can afford it.

The fine should be the same no matter whether the car is a corporate car or private car. I understand when big fines are imposed on business for malpractice, negligence and price fixing, etc etc, but someone driving over the limit in a company car is not a "corporate crime"..

Hang your head in shame Martin. And of course what makes this kind of action by the govt even more disturbing is the fact that the Police Commissioner and/or the Chief Superintendent, never speak out against these ridiculous policies. We here all the time "on the grapevine" that the police force in the NT do not like policing the new 130kmh speed limit on the open highway. They know it's wrong, they know it diverts a lot of time away from "real" policing because let's face it, the Stuart Hwy is bloody long.

The same goes for the police in every state. Once, just once, I would love to see these gutless turkey's stand up for once and say, hey, we're don't agree with such and such, either you change the law so it's sensible or we don't police the policy, or alternatively, we go on strike.
