Fact I was booked for doing 73 klms in a 60 zone the 70 klm speed sign was about 100 meters away I was approaching it, I was pinged for doing up to 15 klms an hour over he speed limit.
Thing is on the ticket the Police officer has written that I was booked in Giles street and not the Victoria Highway where I actually was booked and some 3 klms away .
Could this make a difference if I chose to fight the ticket on a technicality?
Or do I just pay the fine.
Thanks in Advance

I know I was still speeding just thought the officer should of realised where he was.
I'd be pretty well harmonised with Dougs opinion.
It'd be interesting to listen in court to the police 'statement of facts' as read to the magistrate, then encourage or amplify those statements by way of clarifying 'points', then of course driving home a few of your own, including any applicable speed-limit discrepencies. A produced map without street names and having the officer pinpoint on that where the reading took place, if you follow . . .
Regardless, generally speaking very few win against police in local courts.
In a derestrestricted environment, which NT is not atm, it is 'more prudent' to obey posted speed-limits where they are used, rather than not.
Thornfire, I suggest you check out the Beat Fines header on our web site. They (Rick Cooper) could help you, Mention that you saw the link on hwww.KeepNTLimitFree.org if you like. I have found them personally to be really good, anyway good luck mate.
