Why are the CLP so happy, the election was close, but they did not win.
Do you really think the ALP will roll back the policies that have so pissed us off here at KEEP NT LIMIT FREE. I would like to be proved wrong. I do not draw any warm fuzzzy feeling from the election result. The status quo will probably remain the same. I am just as ANGRY now as I was before the election.
Some sympathy with you DB, if anything, I'd suggest we'll see further reduction in speed-limit (the 130km/h), afterall, 'they have to appear to be doing somthing about the road toll'.
It was a big ask to knock off ALP in one hit, so in that respect its a solid effort.
NT ALP should re-establish (//) to replace most of the 130km/h lengths, IF they wish to be taken seriously in the road safety business. My age long cynical side would be surprised if they'd become so progressive....
For CLP's part, the 'policy'? of re-adopting (//) to NT's key highway's at least, should remain steadfast.
Much more can be done to reduce road trauma, and derestriction is not, and never was 'the problem', and in many respects kept a lid on other issues that impact the toll, derestriction something a few extreme academics and restrictionist advocates fail to appreciate. More arrogance, if you like....
The derestriction sign should be reintroduced per above with the additional words placed under the symbol "DRIVE TO CONDITIONS". You cannot do that with a politically correct speed-limit, ever.
